Although NO GI is a new company, the idea of the social project and the certainty that, through the sport we can give hope to those children with more than fifteen years, when one of the partners applied in practice its effectiveness. There was a child, at that time with six years of age, living under a trailer at the beach of Barra da Tijuca, in Rio de Janeiro and not only he lived as a mouse, but literally slept with them. Instead of returning to his house in the slums, where he was beaten by his step father, one of the NO GI partners, became aware of this fact and decided, independently, to assume that problem. First a good bath, followed by new clothes and a hair cut. Later a visit to the doctor and dentist, later laboratorial exams and medicines, and at the end a visit to a Jiu-jitsu academy to find out with the master if he could sleep in the fighting floor and have all of the teacher's attentions to become an athlete.

With the teacher's full and all other student’s acceptance, they basically adopted the child becoming their friend, father, companion and keeper of that child that gained a new life. A new life was implanted, a new conception of a social project was planted, where the partners don't have to take money from their pockets to maintain these children, more than this, they decided to perpetuate the idea in the objectives of a simple company, where part of the earnings are used to maintain and expand the social project and to support athletes.

NO GI was created to value contact sport, sponsoring the athlete in a way he can live from it and, most of all, but in the same level of concern, promote social projects removing poor children that use to live on the streets so they can have a real family, based on the doctrine and education of sports. Today, NO GI shelters over 2.000 Brazilian children in its project, providing kimonos for training, pedagogical and medical supervision so that this kids can have in the sport and in the examples of "complete athletes" an example of dignity and perseverance in search for their ideal.

Projeto REAÇÃO headed by the Olympic medalist, Flávio Canto, a personality of wonderful character, an example of human being, Brazilian pride and a man to be followed, for his perseverance and obstinacy of his ideals.

Projeto VALORIZANDO AS DIFERENÇAS, that has as main objective to promote young children with special needs the developent of their abilities to sports, culture and citizenship.

NO GI competes with the drug traffic child to child. We are sure that we will have better days, our incentive is each smile, each medal conquered by them. While there is an unprotected Brazilian child, while there is violence, hunger and abandon in the unfortunate homes, there will be, certainly, a great work to be developed by the NO GI and for serious and dedicated project like REAÇÃO and VALORIZANDO AS DIFERENÇAS.

None of our sponsored athletes are unaware of the social problems that today is still a reality in Brazil and that every day, with each cloth sold, we are sure that we will be helping the children not to be victims of the drug traffic or to loose hope that, one day, they can be athletes and live worthily.

Oh, I was forgetting, our first adopted athlete mentioned earlier, is today a Jiu-Jitsu black belt instructor, married, living in the USA, with an American daughter and earning US $150 per hour worked.
