On December 17, 2004, NO GI was born in Rio de Janeiro. A Company, that since its conception, was a benchmark in Brazil and in the world.  Created by three entrepreneurs, with the objective of promoting a great national social project where children were removed from several poverty lines as well as the drug traffic, for the healthy practice of the contact sport.

The name was suggested by one of the partners and immediately accepted by the others, because it was of easy understanding and similar meaning almost anywhere in the world, added to the fact that four letters would be of easy memorization. NO GI, that means WITHOUT KIMONO, was in consonance with some contact sports and with competitions in the fighting world, where the events of Mixed Martial Arts – MMA take place.

The three entrepreneurs had nothing against the kimono, to the contrary, all practiced judo and jiu-jitsu and recognized the nobility of the light and complete art. In the world, there are countless and grandiose events. Each one with previously defined rules that spread the contact sport in an union of the judo, jiu-jitsu, muai thay, boxing, karate, wrestling, among others. Contemporary athletes dedicated more time to the practice and the union of all the modalities, on their foot and on the ground. The most select technique and constant training would put the opponent down.

NO GI was created exactly to value the contact sport, sponsoring the athlete so that he can live of the sport and, mainly, but in same concern degree, to promote the social project removing the poor children that lived in the streets so that they have a true family, with base in the doctrine and in the learning of the sports. Today, NO GI shelters more than two thousand Brazilian children in its project, supplying kimonos for training, pedagogic and medical supervision so that they have in the sport and in the examples of “complete athletes”, in the largest conception of the expression and of the word, an example of dignity and perseverance in the search of their ideals.

The NO GI fight wear brand of contact sports, grew very quickly in Brazil and in the world, we have pride of being considered today by the world press as the largest fight wear brand of the planet. The quality, identity and the market acceptance of the manufactured clothes were responsible for the fast growth of our brand, but, without a doubt, also by the examples and dedication of each sponsored athlete.

Brazil is a producer of the best athletes in the combat arts, the selective technique and the dedication that each athlete brings, as consequence of the grandiose results in the largest world events.

These words simplify and exemplify NO GI: Social project, athletes' patronage and quality clothes.

As a revolving ball, NO GI manufactures clothes for athletes and fans in age from 12 to 70 years, due to the beauty and quality of their products sales increases in constant growth, with the sales the required working capital is separated and good part of the profit is invested in the social projects and athletes. The athletes compete in the whole world, promoting brand awareness, the quality of their products and the social project, that makes the brand known and, in consequence drive sales. This strategy made the Company to grow 320%  in just one year, with several representatives and franchisees through the world, besides internet sales.

This is NO GI, without secrets, with an enormous social responsibility, but with immense pleasure from its partners, its families and athletes, and mainly, of the children of the project, in the accomplishment of the growth of the company, that for all of us is a reason of great pride.

We are not an NGO, we don't receive politicians' income or support from any government, we accomplished everything with our own efforts and we are victorious thanks to people like you that purchases our products and spread our brand.
